A Hottub
Person who writes the words or music to songs
The Songwriters Hottub is a home for songwriters at every level — from your first chorus to your hundredth cut. It brings together the things a songwriter actually needs: honest feedback on real works-in-progress, a steady rhythm of live gatherings, partners to write with, and a way to get songs in front of real opportunities.
Share a song and the room responds with structured, kind critique — not a star rating, but specific notes on the lyric, the melody and hook, the production, and one thing to try next. Come to the weekly Song Feedback Circle or a Writers’ Round to play the new one for a small group, or pair up at a Co-Writing session.
When a song is ready, the pitch board carries community-run “seeking songs” calls with no screeners. And the “Finish a Song in 4 Weeks” cohort gives you a small group that starts together and walks out with a finished song. It’s free to join — a community you belong to, not a membership you rent.
Share a work-in-progress on the Songwriters Hottub and the room gives structured feedback across five areas — what’s working, the lyric, the melody and hook, the production, and one concrete thing to try next. There’s also a weekly live Song Feedback Circle: a small group and a pro ear, everyone gets time, no screeners.
Join the Co-Writers circle and post what you’ve got — a title, a hook, a worktape, or a page of lyrics — and what you’re looking for. There’s also a recurring Co-Writing Speed Session where you get paired with a new partner and start something fresh.
The Songwriters Hottub has a pitch board where hosts post real “seeking songs” opportunities — the genre, the artist or project, and the deadline. You submit a song link directly. No screeners: every submission reaches the person who posted the call.
Start in the First Song circle — the friendliest room to write your very first song from a single line, no wrong questions. Or join the “Finish a Song in 4 Weeks” cohort: four gatherings, a small group that starts together, and one finished song at the end.
It’s free to join. The Songwriters Hottub is a community you belong to, not a membership you rent — the feedback circles, writers’ rounds, co-writing, and pitch board are all part of the room.
All of them. There are circles for Country & Americana, Worship & Christian, Folk & Acoustic, Pop & Production, and Sync, Film & TV, plus a Lyricists room for words-first feedback. Bring whatever you write.
Rooms stay small and curated — no endless feeds. You actually get to know who’s here.
A Host sets the vibe and keeps the room on track. Members show up to recurring Soaks worth coming back for.
No public profiles, no anonymous chat, no DMs. Every conversation is opt-in, with people who chose to be here.
